On June 19th the Steam accounts used to operate Loot Market received trade bans from Steam/Valve. Items can no longer be traded into or out of these accounts. We believe this ban was made incorrectly. We have contacted Steam/Valve for clarity and/or resolution but have not had any success thus far. It's now our top priority to help out our customers as best we can. Over the next few days here is what customers can expect:
We will be reversing the transactions for all items purchased on or after June 19th at 5 PM ET. Those funds will be added back to your Loot Market balance.
Deposits made on or after June 1st are eligible for a refund. To request a refund, please contact us. If your balance is from the sale of items, please make a withdrawal request. All withdrawals, existing or new, will be processed. Please be advised that due to increased volume, it will take us a bit longer than normal for us to send your funds.
Since there is a trade ban on our Steam accounts, it's not possible for us to trade these items back to you. We have asked Valve/Steam to temporarily reverse the trade ban so you can receive your items, but have not received a response. We have compiled a list with each item, the account it's on, and the seller's information. This list will be submitted to Steam along with a request for them to reverse the trades and/or return the items to you.
All active buy orders will be canceled. The funds will be returned to your balance.
All Loot Elite memberships will be canceled. Your most recent subscription fee will be refunded back to your balance.
Since launching in 2015 Loot Market has been proud to provide a safe, reliable, and secure way to trade items while also doing our part to grow the Dota 2 and CS:GO scene. We feel very strongly that the community needs a trusted partner in the real money in-game economy, and still do. This has been and continues to be our brand proposition.
Yes, it sucks we can’t continue serving the community as we have, but this is not the end of our story. In recent months we have bulked up our team, tested new ideas, and are actively working on some thrilling new concepts that we think you will really dig.
The velocity of change and ever higher expectations set by the community is what makes gaming and esports an unstoppable movement. Our vision matches that pace and we can’t wait to share with you what we have in store next. Keep an eye out for more from the Loot Team very shortly.
Loot Market launched in 2015 with a simple mission: provide a trusted place for users to buy and sell DOTA items for real money. Users can cash out for real world money through PayPal, Bitcoin, Skrill, and many other methods. We wanted to create a product and experience that was more beautiful and engaging than anything else that existed. We believe we achieved that. Soon after, we expanded our offerings to allow customers to buy and sell CSGO skins. We are thrilled to have created a marketplace for users to transact privately without concerns of being scammed or defrauded.
We hope that our users enjoy these cosmetic items in the games as much as we do. DOTA without additional cosmetic items is amazing...but is a lot more fun if you have equipped your character with a stunning arcana or immortal. This site was created by a team that absolutely loves gaming. We certainly want to run a successful business, but we also have a secondary focus on helping to grow gaming and eSports as a whole. We want to introduce as many people as possible to DOTA & CSGO. We want to share our love for these games and items within and be a part of their continued growth. We hope our passion has been expressed through this site and that you will find as much satisfaction in gaming as we have.
